Privacy Policy

Privacy is central to BataNayaar. This policy explains, in plain language, what we do and do not collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

What we do NOT store

Your chat messages. Conversations are relayed live through our server in memory and are never written to disk or to any database. When a chat ends, its contents are permanently gone and cannot be recovered by us or anyone else — including you.

The minimal data we DO process

• An anonymous device ID (a random identifier generated by your browser) to track free-time usage, enforce bans, and apply rate limits. It is not linked to your real identity.
• Temporary abuse and rate-limit signals (such as your IP address) held for a short time with automatic expiry (TTL) to prevent spam and abuse.
• For paid users only: payment metadata (such as phone number, UPI ID, or payment reference) collected and processed by our payment provider, Razorpay, under their own terms and privacy policy. We never see or store your full card details.

Analytics & advertising cookies

We do not set third-party advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track your behaviour across other websites. We never use chat content for analytics or any other purpose.

Cookies & local storage

We use only what is needed to run the Service: localStorage for your consent record and daily free-time tracking, an anonymous device-ID cookie, and a short-lived session token (JWT) for Pro sessions. You can clear these at any time through your browser settings.

Data retention

Abuse and rate-limit signals auto-expire via TTL. We do not maintain long-term storage of personal data. Payment records are retained by Razorpay as required for their compliance and accounting obligations.

Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)

Subject to applicable law, you have rights to access, correction, and grievance redressal regarding your personal data. Because we hold only minimal, ephemeral data, most requests relate to payment metadata held by Razorpay. To exercise any right, use our contact form.

Children

The Service is for adults (18+) only. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from minors.

Our responsibility

We take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we process, but no online service can be guaranteed to be completely secure. To the maximum extent permitted by law, BataNayaar is not liable for any unauthorised access to, or loss of, data that occurs despite reasonable safeguards, nor for how third parties (including other users or Razorpay) handle information. For any privacy concern, request, or complaint, contact us only through our official contact form. We aim to acknowledge within 24 hours and resolve within 15 days, in line with India's IT Rules, 2021.
